Common questions
What is the difference between margin and markup?
Margin is the profit as a share of the selling price. Markup is the profit as a share of the cost. The same sale gives a smaller margin than markup.
Which cost should I use?
Use what the goods really cost you, delivered. Add freight, duty and handling if you pay them, so the margin you see is the one you keep.
