How did the job end?
In Kuwait, as commentary describes the private-sector rule, the indemnity is 15 days of pay for each of the first five years and a month of pay for each year after that, capped at one and a half years of pay. On resignation only a share is paid: half for three to five years of service, two thirds for five to ten years and the full amount after ten. Which pay counts and the day divisor are described differently in different guides, so confirm the figure with the Public Authority for Manpower or your lawyer.
Based on the last basic wage only. Allowances, bonuses and overtime are not included.
These tools give general information, not tax or accounting advice. Confirm the rules with the Ministry of Finance or your accountant.
How to use it

Common questions
Is gratuity worked out on the full salary?
No. It is based on the basic wage, the figure in the contract before allowances. Housing, transport and other allowances are not counted in this estimate.
Can I rely on this figure for a final settlement?
Treat it as an estimate. A contract or settlement agreement can be more generous than the law, and the rules are revised from time to time. Confirm the figure with the Public Authority for Manpower, your lawyer or your HR team before you pay or sign.
