E-invoicing in Bahrain: what to know
Bahrain applies VAT today, and standard tax invoices remain the rule. Published commentary says an e-invoicing requirement is planned but gives no confirmed timetable. This page explains what to check and what is worth keeping in order whatever the NBR announces.
Where Bahrain stands
As far as published commentary says, no e-invoicing mandate is in force in Bahrain, one is reported as being prepared, and its format and timing are not confirmed. Sources disagree about when it could start, and none of them is official.
So do not rely on this page, or on any article, for a date. Ask the National Bureau for Revenue or your accountant, and treat any date you read elsewhere with care until you see it from the NBR.
What is worth preparing anyway

- Check the VAT treatment on every invoice line
- Number invoices in sequence with no gaps or repeats you cannot explain
- Link every credit note to the invoice it corrects
